Job summary

Veterans EZ Info Inc. is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure and networking operations for a large federal healthcare program. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable networks across on-premise and cloud environments.

Remote work with occasional travel. You will collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams, manage Cisco/Juniper devices, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers, and mentor junior staff while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related technical field; 8 years of experience may substitute for degree.
• 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise-scale networks.
• Expertise configuring Cisco and Juniper routers/switches.
• Strong firewall and VPN expertise (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA).
• Experience with F5 LTM/GTM/DNS load balancing and SSL offload.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
• Support WAN, LAN, and wireless across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
• Implement and optimize security controls: firewall rules, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation.
• Manage load balancers (F5) for high availability and app delivery.
• Perform network monitoring and root-cause analysis with SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark.
• Collaborate with security teams to meet NIST/Zero Trust standards.
• Assist cloud networking (Azure/AWS) and hybrid connectivity.
• Create runbooks, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide Tier III escalation support and incident resolution.
• Participate in change control, DR planning, and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical guidance.
