Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Principal Architect to translate complex requirements into scalable engineering solutions and drive modernization of enterprise platforms. You will lead architecture, API evolution, and cloud-native implementations using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, Python, and MongoDB.

You will guide technical delivery, establish standards, mentor teams, and collaborate with clients and product owners to ensure high performance and reliable services.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of architecture and hands-on engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and APIs.
• Experience architecting secure, available cloud solutions on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway).
• Designing event-driven and real-time architectures with Kafka and messaging patterns.
• Leading enterprise modernization, CI/CD, observability, performance, and quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise architecture and modernization of APIs, legacy apps, and backend platforms on AWS with microservices.
• Drive technical transition, knowledge transfer, documentation, and handoffs.
• Provide hands-on engineering leadership for Java/Spring, APIs, Python workflows, Kafka, MongoDB, and AWS solutions.
• Govern delivery with roadmaps, dependencies, SLAs/KPIs, and quality across workstreams.
• Partner with clients and teams as a senior technical advisor, mentoring cross‑functional staff.
