Job summary

Prime Pensions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced DB Enrolled Actuary to perform and review annual funding valuations for defined benefit, cash balance, and DB/DC plans. You will collaborate with consultants to deliver accurate, timely service to small-plan clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in pensions, holds Enrolled Actuary designation (or is close to finishing), and is proficient with Microsoft and valuation software. This role can be remote or based in Chico or Sacramento, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math or math-related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the pension industry.
• Enrolled Actuary designation (or nearing final exam).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and valuation applications.
• Knowledge of pension plan testing regulations: 401(a)(26), 401(a)(4), 410(b), top-heavy, 404 deductibility.

Responsibilities

• Complete, review, and certify annual funding valuations for defined benefit, cash balance, and DB/DC combination plans.
• Perform and review required compliance testing for pension plans.
• Review plan documents and amendments for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Apply IRC limits and pension regulations in analyses.
• Use valuation software and MS applications to prepare deliverables.
• Communicate actuarial findings clearly to consultants and clients.
• Maintain current knowledge of pension laws, regulations, and professional requirements.
