Job summary
Fearless is guiding the modernization of a Maryland state government public-facing website, migrating from SharePoint to Drupal. This fully remote Senior Consultant role serves as the technical bridge among engineering, product, UX, content, and state agency stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable software systems.
Ideal candidates will lead website migrations, craft technical documentation, and mentor engineers while aligning work with Fearless standards of excellence and client
Qualifications
- 7+ years in systems architecture or software engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT or related field; 3 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- Proven enterprise-level architecture design and implementation experience.
- Proficiency with Drupal CMS and integration tech (REST APIs, messaging queues).
- Experience migrating enterprise web platforms and public-facing systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead migration decisions and guide platform transition decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, UX, content, and state stakeholders.
- Assess SharePoint functionality and map to Drupal Maryland Web Design System.
- Identify gaps and document architecture and requirements.
- Propose viable technical approaches with pros/cons for delivery goals.
- Encourage reuse of Maryland Web Design System components and capabilities.
- Define specifications for new Drupal components state-wide.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and integration constraints affecting delivery.
