Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager - Owner's Rep to lead engineering activities across all project phases for pharmaceutical and life sciences initiatives. You will coordinate design, construction, and operations teams while upholding safety, quality, and compliance.

The role requires extensive experience in regulated manufacturing, cGMP, and project governance. Travel 25-50% to project sites in Alabama and Virginia is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience on large-scale, regulated manufacturing projects (pharma, biotech, biopharma, or chemical).
• Proven track record as Engineering Manager, Owner's Representative, or Design Manager on complex projects.
• Deep knowledge of cGMP, qualification and validation processes, utilities, automation, and facility systems.
• Strong organizational, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with engineering and project management tools such as Microsoft Office and Project.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary engineering representative for a major client, overseeing multidisciplinary efforts from conceptual design through commissioning.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies, governance processes, and decision-making frameworks to meet project objectives.
• Ensure technical solutions are compliant, constructible, maintainable, and aligned with owner standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and lead reviews of designs, calculations, specifications, and other critical deliverables at key milestones.
• Monitor performance against scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety targets, proactively addressing variances.
• Manage relationships with design firms, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration and accountability.
• Support field activities, ensuring installations meet design intent and operational standards, and facilitate timely resolution of technical issues.
