Ladders is seeking an Engineering Manager, Data Streaming to lead a data streaming engineering team building reliable ingestion systems for a scalable data platform. This hands-on leadership role requires technical depth in streaming data and strong execution discipline, with a focus on data quality and ownership.

The role is remote with flexible work options and collaborates with cross-functional teams to scale pipeline performance while growing the team.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years leading data ingestion or ETL/ELT teams in production.
• Strong knowledge of streaming architectures such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Proven track record designing scalable normalization and enrichment pipelines.
• Ability to define and manage SLOs for data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud-native data pipeline operations and failure modes.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for pipeline code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the data streaming sub-team and maintain engineering execution and team health.
• Own pipeline reliability focusing on ingestion throughput and error rates.
• Manage ingestion schemas and data contracts, evolving with new capabilities.
• Scale ingestion pipelines to accommodate growth with minimal incremental effort.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and good pipeline design.
• Grow the sub-team and foster a culture of operational ownership.
