Milliman IntelliScript is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the Data Curation team, directing backend services and data pipelines for insurer and health IT SaaS products. The role balances people leadership with technical excellence in a SAFe environment and will guide modernization efforts and GenAI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing multiple software engineers.
• Proven ability to balance people management with technical leadership.
• Experience leading teams that build and operate scalable backend services, data pipelines, and data processing systems.
• Strong experience building and operating modern applications using C#/.NET, relational and non-relational databases, React or similar framework, and REST/event-driven integrations.
• Extensive AWS cloud experience with designing scalable, secure, cost-effective solutions.
• Familiarity with SAFe/Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software practices.
• Experience delivering GenAI-enabled development practices with governance and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development.
• Serve as technical lead for the Scrum team, guiding architecture and design decisions and ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Own software delivery accountability in SAFe, managing dependencies and driving predictable execution.
• Define and maintain a technology roadmap with Enterprise Architecture, balancing feature delivery and technical debt.
• Collaborate with Product Management to align business value with technical approach and capacity.
• Provide level 3 production support, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Enforce engineering best practices: code review, secure coding, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Work with cross-team engineering and platform groups to ensure cohesive platform evolution.
• Drive GenAI adoption with governance, security, and quality controls.
