Job summary

Supabase is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive the Supabase Spark initiative, building the next frontier of agentic databases. You will shape the architecture, set quality standards, and coach a remote-first team.

You'll own the team roadmap, manage hiring, conduct interviews, and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to scale the team. This is a fully remote, globally distributed role with a strong emphasis on performance and culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering background with credibility in complex systems.
• 3+ years managing remote engineering teams, preferably in cloud, SaaS, or developer tools.
• Experience with developer tools or databases, including SQLite and Postgres ecosystems.
• Strong backend and database systems expertise, including APIs, auth, and Postgres access control.
• Proven track record of leading teams from early stage to production and coaching for performance and culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead a healthy, high-trust remote-first engineering team and conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and onboarding.
• Own hiring plans for the team and act as Hiring Manager, including first-round interviews.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close candidates; contribute to headcount planning.
• Own the team roadmap and project management, manage workflow intake and Slack triage, and surface risks early.
• Coordinate incident response as Incident Commander and drive post-incident reviews.
