Job summary

Supabase is hiring for a Senior Backend Engineer to shape and scale the Storage service across client libraries, CLI, CDN, and deployment infrastructure. You’ll own performance, reliability, and developer experience for a globally used platform.

You will work across the stack, collaborating with frontend and infrastructure teams to optimize uploads, storage formats, and cache invalidation while building tools that scale to millions of users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering experience with Node.js in production.
• Experience with highly scalable, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with observability tools and performance tuning.
• Production-grade PostgreSQL usage, including tuning/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Improve analytics storage and asset delivery performance.
• Develop and optimize edge/network features for faster uploads.
• Enhance storage server reliability, observability, and performance.
• Build fast, powerful storage explorer with frontend collaboration.
• Iterate APIs, client libraries, and CLI for strong end-to-end DX.
• Resolve escalated issues and identify systemic platform improvements.
