Job summary

SFR3 is a boutique real estate investment fund managing $2B+ in affordable single-family homes across 20 states. You’ll be the engineering lead for a dedicated business unit, partnering with the owner to solve critical challenges with scalable software.

You’ll own the roadmap and use AI-driven tools to accelerate development for real estate operations. You’ll work remotely with an always-on, startup-like mindset, shipping fast while aligning tech with business goals.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to act as the technical lead of a business unit, balancing speed and durability.
• Experience building backend systems that power real-world processes.
• Strong expertise in at least one backend language (Python, Go, Java, Ruby).
• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming (Kafka).
• Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud-based services.
• Understanding diverse databases and setups (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Ability to tie engineering work to business outcomes and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap for your business unit and deliver high-impact software solutions.
• Design and develop backend services that power field operations and asset management.
• Integrate with third-party APIs (REST/GraphQL) to enhance platforms.
• Collaborate on scoping and prioritizing the roadmap with stakeholders.
• Analyze system performance and drive continuous improvement.
