Job summary

Oregon State University’s Division of Ecampus is hiring a part-time Engineering Student Ambassador to join OSU Ecampus and expand access to OSU’s online education for engineering students wherever they are.

You will build relationships with prospective engineering students, help them envision possibilities, and connect them with people and resources to support their success. The role emphasizes outreach via phone, email, text, live chat, and video meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
• High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
• Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
• Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
• *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the USCIS. A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
• Must be currently enrolled as an Engineering major.
• Current Ecampus student.
• Completed at least one term.
• A demonstrable commitment to inclusive excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal experience as an Ecampus student and field questions covering topics including admissions, academic programs, financial aid, enrollment procedures and defer to other Ecampus staff when unable to answer prospective student questions.
• Understand prospective engineering student needs and connect them with appropriate university resources.
• Complete a high volume of targeted outreach, while meeting deadlines, through phone, email, text, live chat, and video appointments.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach conducted with prospective engineering students and follow-up activities in CRM systems.
• Represent Oregon State University when presenting virtual information sessions, webinars, and recruitment events.
