Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Long Island Rail Road seeks an Engineer - Technical Processes and Compliance - Power to develop, maintain, and distribute Power department procedures and regulatory requirements. The role monitors safety notices, conducts audits, and communicates changes to management and field personnel.

The incumbent will lead field observations, train Power Department staff, create guidelines and presentations, and support risk assessments and corrective actions to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 8 years recent practical experience in the electrical field at railroad/transit environment.

Responsibilities

• Train Power Department employees in construction, maintenance and repair per specs.
• Conduct field observations and audits, document compliance.
• Maintain training schedules and records for Power department staff.
• Monitor safety regulation changes and implement them for safe ops.
• Audit PPE inventory and arc flash equipment distribution.
• Respond to Power/Engineering emergencies and winter storm coverage.
• Aim to reduce accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
