Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Director of Engineering, Energy Storage to lead the Energy Storage Engineering team, oversee the design of utility‑scale storage projects, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NERC and project requirements. This role can be fully remote or hybrid, with regular in‑office presence in San Diego, CA; up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years in engineering with energy storage, renewables, or power systems.
• Minimum 5+ years in management.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and lead engineers focused on energy storage systems.
• Oversee development of energy storage engineering standards and procurement specifications.
• Lead design efforts for interconnection systems with utility approvals and NERC compliance.
• Drive adoption of new technologies to optimize system performance and cost.
• Provide SME guidance to other SOLV departments as needed.
