Job summary

AGent Energy is seeking an Energy Market Analyst to build and operate systems that move distributed generation MW from registration to daily value maximization in wholesale energy markets. This hands-on role suits someone early in their career with real market/DER experience and a drive to grow in a high-impact energy tech company.

Qualifications

• Experience in wholesale energy markets; understanding market mechanics.
• Familiarity with grid operator registration processes and MW participation requirements.
• Strong Python and SQL skills for data work.
• Experience with Claude AI or willingness to learn and apply AI tools.
• Analytical mindset with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
• 1-3 years in DER or wholesale energy space.

Responsibilities

• Support wholesale energy market registration across target markets with attention to detail.
• Assist in end-to-end MW participation: data, offers, registrations, dispatch, settlements.
• Help meet program milestones including seasonal starts, testing, and validation.
• Acquire, manage, and analyze market and asset performance data.
• Support load modeling and forecasting to maximize asset value.
• Build reports and dashboards with actionable insights.
• Develop KPIs to measure market performance and progress toward goals.
• Help evaluate tools and technology and improve data workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure integrated systems.
• Support GTM with data and market intelligence for prospects.
