You will validate medical necessity, ensure proper payer routing, and maintain complete documentation to support claim submissions. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, detail orientation, and experience in EMS or medical billing.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Superior attention to detail with ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Experience in EMS/medical billing or coding preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing processes and coding standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review claims to assign accurate service levels and correct billing details.
• Evaluate documentation for medical necessity and payer requirements.
• Verify signatures and documentation supporting claim adjudication.
• Identify and correct discrepancies in patient info and billing data.
• Validate mileage and service details against source documentation.
• Apply EMS coding rules to ensure accurate billing.
• Manage high daily claim volume while maintaining accuracy.
• Maintain compliant documentation for all coding actions.
• Communicate with internal partners to resolve coding questions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
