Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Employee Communications Specialist to craft engaging internal and external communications that support employee initiatives.

You will develop creative communication plans, manage content across intranet, digital signage, emails and executive correspondence, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote Tri-State goals and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in AP style and newsroom editing.
• Experience designing engaging internal communications.
• Ability to write for diverse audiences including members and employees.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage innovative communication plans delivering key messages.
• Write and edit content for internal/external channels (intranet, emails, posters, exec correspondence).
• Interview and frame stories to align with Tri-State goals.
• Design communications for digital stations and posters.
• Support corporate brand-aligned strategies.
• Review board meeting materials and prepare reports.
• Perform content audits of intranet and employee platforms.
• Identify areas for improvement in communications programs.
• Lead small project teams and mentor junior staff.
• Support media relations and crisis communications.
