Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains is seeking a part-time Chaplain to serve employees and their immediate families at client sites in Bloomington, IL. You will provide spiritual support, confidential discussions, and pastoral care within an interfaith framework consistent with our ministry values.

The role includes regular site visits, crisis support, funerals, and guidance on life issues, with the flexibility to work remotely in field settings. A Christian lifestyle and active driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to listen effectively and interact with employees and families under stressful circumstances.
• Strong oral and written communication and ability to document accurately.
• Demonstrates Christian values and participates in biblically based church.
• Ability to work with diverse groups with diplomacy and courtesy.
• Mental and emotional stability to handle emergencies and grief.
• Proficient with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, and common web apps.
• Must have an active state driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Make regular visits to client worksites (usually weekly) to build trusted relationships.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for personal issues including family matters, illness, debt, and life transitions.
• Assist in planning or attending funerals and providing post-funeral support to families.
• May perform jail visits and coordinate support services for employees and families.
• Respond to executive leadership requests within the scope of the agreement with client companies.
• Support orientation of new employees about Employee Care Service and chaplain roles.
