Job summary

Belcan Corporation is seeking a Remote Embedded Software Engineer (C Coding) to join a key aerospace client. You will focus on Linux simulation application development, embedding C code into the simulator, and supporting tool chains for verification and maintenance.

The role requires 5+ years in the field, embedded C with C++, and strong UNIX/Linux experience, along with collaboration across teams to deliver robust simulation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 5+ years of relevant embedded C experience.
• Must have C coding experience (embedded C) with some knowledge of C++.
• US Citizenship is a requirement.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems is preferred.
• Experience with build tools like Make and debugging tools such as GDB/DDD/DBX.

Responsibilities

• Integrate embedded code into the simulator architecture.
• Integrate the simulator into a hardware-in-the-loop test environment.
• Support/maintain tools used with the simulation (e.g., drawing editor, scripting extensions).
• Investigate and remediate simulator performance issues.
• Troubleshoot crashes, build failures, and incorrect outputs.
• Collaborate with the team to develop estimates and support project planning.
• Support qualification of simulator components for formal verification.
• Create/update documentation.
• Address ad hoc questions from simulator users to determine remediation needs.
