Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Software Engineer in Rockford, IL to develop and maintain aerospace simulation applications. You will integrate embedded code into the simulator and ensure compatibility with hardware-in-the-loop setups, while enhancing tools and scripts.

The role emphasizes C/C++ coding, Linux environments, and performance tuning, with opportunities to design and verify software across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have C coding experience with some knowledge of C++.
• US Citizenship is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Integrate product embedded code into the simulator architecture.
• Integrate the simulator into a hardware-in-the-loop test environment.
• Support, maintenance, or enhancement of tools used with the simulation such as the drawing editor or scripting engine extensions.
• Investigation and remediation of performance issues with the simulator.
• Troubleshoot and correct functional issues (e.g. crash, build failures, incorrect output).
• Collaborate with team to develop estimates and support project planning.
• Support Qualification of simulator components for formal product verification.
• Documentation creation/update.
• Address ad hoc questions from simulator users to determine if remediation effort is required.
