Job summary

The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Arizona is seeking a dedicated teacher of record for our online K-12 program. You will deliver live lessons, manage course setup in the LMS, and monitor student progress to drive achievement and culture.

This role requires an Arizona teaching license with SEI endorsement, strong communication, and ability to differentiate instruction; occasional in-person state testing travel is expected several times per year.

Qualifications

• Current state teaching license in appropriate content area.
• SEI Endorsement required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ experience teaching.
• Comfortable working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to properly manage confidential information.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
• Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference based on student need, rooted in research-based instructional practices.
• Complete course setup for each course within the LMS.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grade assignments daily.
• Track and maintain contact with each student.
• Collaborate with Principal to create and deliver Progress Reports of Students.
• Review student level data frequently to inform instructional program adjustments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Utilize research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
• Travel to support required face to face state testing annually.
