Job summary

The Department of Human Services in Pennsylvania seeks a Third Party Liability Specialist to review and analyze claims and safeguard medical assistance funds.

You will investigate cases, coordinate with attorneys and providers, and help maximize recoveries while maintaining compliance and service integrity.

This role offers telework options up to three days per week and a standard 37.5-hour work week in Harrisburg headquarters.

Qualifications

• Four years of technical experience reviewing information for program eligibility or liability.
• A bachelor’s degree.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals to determine eligibility errors and identify responsible parties.
• Conduct investigations of personal injury and estate matters with attorneys, providers, and other agencies.
• Develop knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for cash and medical benefit claims and apply them to work.
• Coordinate with other units and external offices to improve recovery processes.
• Evaluate case factors to negotiate fair settlements and maximize collections.
• Maintain accurate case records and review payments for proper crediting.
