Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, seeks a Strategic Initiatives Coordinator to support the Assistant Commissioner by advancing division-wide programs, policies, and priorities.

You will analyze operations and finances, coordinate across units, develop procedures, and prepare reports. NYC residency is generally required; benefits include a 35-hour week and a robust public-sector package.

Qualifications

• Requires a baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• Alternative: high school graduation with six years’ experience in community work or related duties.
• Equivalency accepted: education/experience equal to above, with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement division-wide programs, policies, and strategic initiatives across units.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Compliance, and other teams to promote consistency and efficiency.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 2 years experience in community work

High school diploma + 6 years experience in community work

Equivalent combination with at least 1 year experience as described
