Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Detection Response team to manage CorpSec posture, monitor for anomalies, and build detections across internal systems. If within commuting distance of SF, NY, or London, expect in-office anchor days on Mon/Tue/Fri; otherwise, the role is fully remote.

You will work with cross-functional teams to support audits (PCI, SOC2, ISO), improve visibility, and handle security incidents as they arise, ensuring robust security across the company.

Qualifications

• <0>Extensive experience in security operations, including SIEM management and detection engineering.</0>
• <0>Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud security best practices.</0>
• <0>Experience with GitHub administration and security controls.</0>
• <0>Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and security investigations.</0>
• <0>Hands-on incident response, including detection, triage, and remediation.</0>
• <0>Endpoint management across Mac, Windows, Linux.</0>
• <0>Proficiency in Python/Bash and Rust/Go.</0>
• <0>Familiarity with serverless functions and API security.</0>

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security alerts across multiple channels, including managed SOC escalations.
• Maintain logging and SIEM operations to ensure visibility across the org.
• Support PCI, SOC2, ISO audits; gather evidence with Engineering, GRC and Security.
• Develop and deploy new detections; enhance security tooling and partner ecosystems.
• Lead security investigations and on-call processes to improve response efficiency.
• Guard business operations by applying risk-based security changes.
• Manage email security, EDR posture, GitHub security, and internal tooling.
