Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a Systems Administrator II to manage enterprise library technologies, including Ex Libris Alma and Primo, and to collaborate with CSU colleagues and vendors on enhancements. Responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and supporting library systems and integrations to ensure reliable access for students and faculty.

The role emphasizes enterprise application administration, documentation, testing, and user support, with telecommuting up to two days

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or administering library systems (e.g., Alma, Primo, or other integrated library systems) or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience working with data analysis, reporting, or analytics tools.
• Experience supporting system integrations, data workflows, or data exchange technologies (e.g., XML, JSON, APIs, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to support system configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing enhancements.
• Experience providing technical training, documentation, or user support in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and enhance Ex Libris Alma, Primo, and related library services.
• Implement configuration changes to support Library operations and evolving campus needs.
• Develop documentation, test new features, and provide guidance on library system functionality.
• Support integrations between library systems and campus enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot system, integration, and data synchronization issues to ensure reliable access to library resources.
• Coordinate with Library staff, campus IT teams, CSU partners to resolve technical issues and implement new functionality.
• Partner with Ex Libris, vendors, and CSU colleagues to evaluate enhancements, coordinate testing, and improve system performance.
• Develop reports, analyze system data, and identify opportunities to improve workflows and business processes.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements that strengthen library technologies and the user experience.
