Job summary

San Jacinto College is seeking a Lab Technician for Biomanufacturing to support daily operations at the Generation Park and South Campus facilities. The role involves hands-on equipment setup, routine maintenance, inventory tasks, and safety support to enable high-quality hands-on learning.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of lab or technical experience and an Associate degree, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory operations, safety and quality requirements, instrumentation and processes related to biomanufacturing.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols while working under supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency with MS 365 applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, etc.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and break down laboratory and training spaces, including basic equipment and materials.
• Perform routine cleaning, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting on equipment; report issues as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of reagents and supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
• Support instructors and staff during training sessions.
• Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, inventory, and safety tasks.
