Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Senior Hospital Coding Quality professional to ensure accurate professional and hospital coding. You will develop guidance, support audits, and analyze data to drive quality improvements across enterprise coding practices.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC), with 5+ years of hospital-based coding experience and deep ICD/CPT/HCPCS knowledge. Remote work may be approved for select states; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• Coding credentials required: AHIMA or AAPC certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC).
• 5 years hospital-based coding and revenue cycle experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Strong analytic, training, and communication skills.
• Experience with remote workforce operations.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance and reference materials.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and document results.
• Track audit findings and propose corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare leadership-ready summaries and reports.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality.
• Support regulatory and quality projects ensuring AHIMA standards.
