A.E. Perkins is seeking a Proposal Writer II to identify, qualify, develop, and submit competitive government proposals (RFPs/RFIs/RFQs/IFBs) across state, local, and education sectors.

You will source opportunities and craft compliant, persuasive content across technical, financial, and program areas. The role requires translating complex information into evaluator-focused narratives and coordinating with sales, operations, legal, and finance to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, writing, communications, English, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional government proposal writing experience; strong SLED focus preferred.
• Experience with proposal automation software, content libraries, and electronic procurement portals.

Responsibilities

• Source government contracting opportunities via portals, bid alerts, and market intelligence.
• Write original, persuasive proposals addressing each entity’s objectives and requirements.
• Translate complex technical and compliance information into clear, evaluator-focused responses.
• Develop compliant responses including executive summaries, technical/management sections, and resumes.
• Perform final quality-control reviews for compliance and readability.
• Maintain proposal content libraries and templates; coordinate cross-functional input.
