Job summary

Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore is seeking a strategic Director of Advancement to lead day-to-day fundraising and grow annual revenue. You will cultivate major donors, corporate partners, and foundations, while aligning with leadership to expand JAES impact across the Eastern Shore.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in fundraising, strong relationship-building, and a track record of securing philanthropic support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or nonprofit management or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive fundraising or advancement experience.
• Track record of securing philanthropic support and major gifts.
• Experience leading projects or teams.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual fundraising goals across multiple sources as part of a growth strategy.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
• Identify new funding opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate with President, Board, and staff to boost donor engagement.
• Represent JAES with regional business, philanthropic, and civic leaders.
• Oversee staff, interns, and volunteers to sustain fundraising efforts.
• Ensure grant management, budgeting, and revenue tracking meet standards.
• Use fundraising analytics to inform decisions and strategy.
• Monitor donor trends and opportunities to support long-term growth.
• Develop donor communications, sponsorship materials, and impact reporting.
