Job summary

City of Denton is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative to assist residents by phone, email, and in person with payments, inquiries, and service requests in a friendly, professional manner.

You will handle high call volume, process payments, balance cash drawer, issue receipts, and support Solid Waste operations. This role offers hybrid work options and requires strong communication and cash handling skills.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of customer service experience.
• Six (6) months of cash handling experience.
• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy phone traffic for departments citywide.
• Provide phone, electronic and face-to-face support to customers, directing internal and external customers and processing payments.
• Assist with interdepartmental cash and reporting/tracking functions.
• Receive, maintain, and account for monies and provide payment receipts; ensure compliance with cash handling policies.
• Balance cash drawer daily and prepare daily deposits; update accounts as needed.
