Job summary

Family and Children Services, Division of in Albany, GA, is hiring a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 to learn investigative and comprehensive case management for abuse/neglect cases. The role involves safety planning, collaboration with families, and coordination with community partners to support children and foster families.

Under supervision, you will perform mandated duties, participate in after-hours on-call duties, and pursue ongoing professional development while helping ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, learns to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for abuse or neglect cases.
• Initiates timely, face-to-face responses to screened-in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conducts assessments to address safety concerns.
• Develops and implements safety plans to address identified safety concerns.
• Conducts diligent search efforts to locate the child/family when contact is unavailable.
• Implements Solution Based Casework (SBC).
• Collaborates with children and parents to develop Family Functioning Agreement, Action Plan, and Family Plan to achieve outcomes.
• Completes genograms to identify family support networks.
• Coordinates with community partners to create systems of support for children and families.
• Ensures visits with children and families support safety, permanency, and well-being.
• Identifies needs of children, parents, and foster parents and ensures addressed.
• Establishes permanency goals for the child(ren).
• Ensures foster care placements are stable and in the best interests of the child(ren).
• Makes efforts to achieve permanency in a timely manner per Adoptions and Safe Families Act.
• Maintains siblings’ connections unless separation is necessary.
• Maintains child’s connections to neighborhood, community, and school.
• Documents case management activities within policy timeframes.

Education
