Job summary

The State of Georgia, Department of Human Services, is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 in Americus, GA. You will learn to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for cases involving child or adult abuse or neglect, under supervision.

Responsibilities include safety planning, family collaboration, and pursuing permanency goals while coordinating with community partners and maintaining visits to ensure well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Applicants may be subject to pre-employment testing and background checks.
• Experience with investigative casework and child welfare practice is preferred but not required at this level.

Responsibilities

• Initiates timely, face-to-face responses to screened-in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conducts assessments to identify safety concerns.
• Implements safety plans to address identified concerns and ensures follow-up as needed.
• Completes genograms and collaborates with families to develop action plans and family plans for outcomes.
• Maintains regular visits with children and families to ensure safety, permanency, and well-being.
• Pursues permanency goals and coordinates foster placements to best support the child.
• Utilizes SBC and works with community partners to create systems of support for children and families.
