Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Child Care Licensing Inspector III–V to regulate and inspect Texas child-care facilities, ensuring health and safety standards are met across Regions. The role involves inspections, investigations, and provider training, with potential for IV/V level based on experience.

The position offers telework eligibility, a daytime schedule, and significant travel.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience in regulatory services preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor licensed facilities and cite deficiencies with CCR policy.
• Investigate complaints and ensure timely regulatory actions.
• Evaluate permit applications and issue appropriate permits.
• Identify risks and refer to enforcement when needed.
• Provide training and technical assistance to providers.
