Job summary

Excelsior University in Albany, NY, is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to lead daily operations in the Office of Student Financial Services. The role oversees Title IV programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports student packaging, repackaging, and counseling.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of financial aid or related experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Word & Excel; PowerFAIDS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years in financial aid or related student service administration.
• Experience with student financial aid regulations, financial aid software, and proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer Title IV program(s) including awarding, verification, and COD reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Title IV regulations and maintain policies and procedures.
• Assist in annual A-133 audit preparation with leadership.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement them for assigned programs.
• Communicate changes to all stakeholders.
• Create and maintain process flows for assigned programs.
• Promote academic success, retention, and reduction of time toward graduation.
• Provide excellent customer service via telephone, email, virtual meetings, and written correspondence for financial aid.
• Serve as information resource for incoming students, transfers, and returning students and staff.
• Assist with developing and updating processes and forms/publications.
• Participate in professional development and support the development of Student Financial Services.
