Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Architectural Designer 2 with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to design and oversee facilities across state properties, collaborating with engineers and other specialists to support parks, buildings, and public spaces.

The responsibilities include project planning, design evaluation, field investigations, construction review, consultant coordination, and providing technical guidance on permitting and design challenges.

Qualifications

• One year as Architectural Designer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Two years of professional architectural experience which involved designing components of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings or structures, and a bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering or a closely related field which included major course work in architectural design
• An equivalent combination of experience and training in architectural design work.

Responsabilités

• Prepare design documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for construction and renovation projects
• Review architectural and building work for accuracy, compliance, safety, and alignment with agency standards
• Collect measurements, site data, and mapping information to support design development
• Assess construction progress, evaluate compliance with contract documents, and assist with inspections
• Work with contracted designers by reviewing proposals, evaluating documents, and monitoring project deliverables
• Provide advice and solutions to staff on architectural questions, permitting issues, and design challenges
