Job summary

Great River Connections Academy is seeking an Elementary Teacher for 4th/5th grade Social Studies in Ohio. You may work from our Columbus office or remotely from home within Ohio, delivering synchronous instruction and using the Pearson Online Classroom to support students.

Responsibilities include creating engaging lessons, providing feedback, updating learning plans, collaborating with staff, and participating in school events and assessments.

Qualifications

• Valid K-5, 1-8, or 4-9th grade teaching credential in Ohio.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Highly organized and punctual
• Willingness to travel for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
• Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
• 2-step authentication is required to login to all systems if given a job offer.

Responsibilities

• Represent a commitment to equitable practice and provide individualized support.
• Support instructional program with asynchronous and synchronous instruction; provide intervention and enrichment.
• Provide feedback, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences timely.
• Communicate with parents and students to develop Personal Learning Plans and schedules.
• Develop knowledge of K-12 curriculum and grade levels.
• Collaborate to provide Tier 1-3 interventions and share data-driven strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date student records and contacts.
• Coordinate with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors for progress and communication.
• Attend school events and field trips; organize and participate in social activities.
• Engage families to create a strong school community and attend professional development.
