Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, working independently and with teams from concept through commissioning.

Remote (U.S.-based) with 35-50% travel; salaried exempt position with opportunity for growth and DoD SkillBridge consideration. Relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using templates.
• Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams.
• Train and support technicians, customers, and internal teams on system operation.
