Job summary

AECOM seeks an Electrical Engineer Lead specializing in hyper-scale data centers to design, implement, and maintain critical electrical systems. This role is remote-based with travel to client sites as needed, and offers leadership opportunities across global teams.

The ideal candidate will bring a PE license, 10+ years in data center electrical design, strong NEC knowledge, and a proven ability to lead engineering efforts and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in data center infrastructure or equivalent experience.
• PE license required.
• Extensive data center electrical design experience preferred.
• Strong NEC/NFPA70 knowledge.
• Leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Experience with BIM software (ACC Cloud).
• Experience in data center design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, including power distribution, backups and emergency systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, and other standards.
• Collaborate to develop specifications, criteria and budgets.
• Analyze systems for load balancing, capacity, and power optimization.
• Perform preventative maintenance, testing and repairs of electrical systems.
• Develop electrical safety procedures and training programs.
• Stay current with data center tech and recommend improvements.
• Accountable for project success in the electrical discipline.
• Provide technical input and mentoring to mid-level engineers.
• Approve work as Engineer of Record and provide budgeting estimates.
• Lead client relationships and contribute to business development.
