Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Engineer for remote work with occasional site travel to Upington, Northern Cape. The role centers on design, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation for process control and automation across industrial facilities.

You will work with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA, develop P&ID and loop diagrams, and ensure compliance with ISA/IEC standards. This position emphasizes hands-on problem solving and collaboration with process teams to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in electrical and instrumentation engineering in an industrial setting.
Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and instrumentation calibration.

Responsibilities

Design and specify electrical and instrumentation components for industrial processes.
Develop P&ID diagrams, loop diagrams, wiring schedules, and instrument specs.
Calibrate and maintain instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems.
Implement PLC and DCS based control systems.
Ensure compliance with ISA, IEC standards and safety regulations.
Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies.
Prepare commissioning reports and user manuals.
Stay updated on new instrumentation technologies.
Provide technical support for plant modifications and capital projects.
