Intertek seeks an Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection for a remote, part-time role serving the Jacksonville, Florida region. You will inspect lightning protection systems on buildings, prepare reports, and advise clients on compliance with LPI, NFPA and UL standards.

What are we looking for?

The Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection, Remote Part-Timeis responsible for performing field inspections of lightning protection systems of buildings and structures to ensure compliance with applicable standards, issuing reports, and communicating with clients.This position has the potential for 75% travel.

Location: Remote for Jacksonville, Florida region. This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

What you’ll do:

• Perform inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures as required by applicable LPI, NFPA and UL standards.
• Complete reports summarizing the inspection work completed onsite.
• Make judgments regarding compliance in terms of applicable standards.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients while planning visits to work locations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in the construction or electrical trades, preferably as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to adhere to site PPE requirements and work safely on an active construction site
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to be responsive and provide good customer communication and service
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, with hours ranging from 0 to 40+ per week
• Must have access to the internet
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to travel 75% as needed, including air and overnight travel
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to lift/carry at least 40 pounds.Ability to climb at least 30 feet.Ability to work with various level of noise

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector
