Required Education and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
Minimum Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience with large commercial (office, data center) building or substation electrical systems design
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks while meeting scheduled deadlines and working within project budget
- Excellent understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals
- Ability to evaluate written design narratives, Electrical drawing sets, specifications, and equipment submittals
- Ability to evaluate lighting control designs including drawings and submittals
- Comfort with spreadsheets (data tables, basic calculations, charts/graphs)
- Ability to travel to client sites within the US as needed (occasional)
Preferred or Bonus Qualifications
- PMP or CAPM, NETA or CEM certification
- Proficient with spreadsheets (pivot charts, data normalization)
- Experience with data analytics in the Built Environment
- Familiarity and experience with SMART building design initiatives
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical electrical engineering resource within the company, evaluating and applying engineering judgment and techniques for electrical system design and analysis
- Provide expertise in electrical distribution (600V and below), campus primary distribution (up to 15 kV), emergency power, telecom, low voltage systems, PV/solar, and Microgrids
- Develop basis of design documents as needed
- Evaluate the design of electrical systems, including equipment selection, system coordination, calculations, and electrical service sizing, layout and circuiting that comply with industry standards for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings
- Provide peer review of distribution load flow, short circuit, and arc flash analysis
- Lead decarbonization projects with electrical infrastructure evaluation and upgrades
- Provide peer review of lighting and lighting control systems
- Conduct peer reviews of third-party designs and client facility design guidelines to confirm validity and compliance standard adherence
- Oversee commissioning of electrical equipment, including meters, generators, and lighting systems when needed
- Conduct client site visits and document design and functionality errors or concerns as well as recommendations for remediation.
- Measure operational efficiencies and document opportunities for energy conservation and performance optimization
- Serve as a Project Management resource, as needed, including writing bid scope documents, reviewing bids, tracking progress, and managing resources
- Additional contributions as assigned
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 depending on experience and qualifications
