Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a remote-based Electrical Power Division engineer to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear systems.

You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, collaborating with dealers, factories, and field teams from concept through commissioning. Responsibilities include retrofit project scope, design, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC/HMI-based controls, converting legacy PLCs, and producing wiring diagrams with

Qualifikationen

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience with automation and controls engineering.
Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Travel 35-50% and remote work as stated.

Aufgaben

Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with teams.
Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of generator control systems.
Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
Produce wiring and assembly drawings with CAD collaboration.
Support field performance and conduct technical risk assessments.
Prepare project documentation and manage expenses.
