Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to strengthen our renewable energy practice across the United States. The role focuses on solar PV and BESS system design, energy production modelling, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground-mount installations.

The candidate will contribute to feasibility, preliminary and detailed design, and support construction through startup and commissioning, with remote work flexibility and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Demonstrated experience in design and integration of utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under guidance of senior staff.
• Develop design schedules and budgets with Project Engineer/Project Manager.
• Design of Solar PV and BESS systems including arrays, DC sizing, equipment layouts, and interconnections.
• Energy production modelling for PV and BESS systems.
• Develop construction and equipment specifications.
• Perform NEC/conductor sizing/voltage drop calculations and related engineering tasks.
• Support lifecycle project activities from feasibility to startup and commissioning.
• Participate in client meetings and travel as needed.
