Job summary

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years in electrical design or drafting, preferably power/renewable energy.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of electrical principles, power systems, and renewable energy components.
• Familiarity with SANS and IEC electrical codes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Eagerness to learn in renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design drawings: single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts for solar PV and wind systems.
• Assist engineers with electrical calculations for load analysis and system sizing.
• Use CAD software to create and modify design documents.
• Review equipment datasheets for compatibility with system designs.
• Prepare BOM for electrical components.
• Coordinate with project teams and suppliers to gather design information.
• Ensure designs meet electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations for renewable energy projects.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and project submittals.
• Stay updated with latest technologies and best practices in renewable energy electrical design.
• Provide technical support to the project team.
