Cambium Learning Group is seeking an Item Writer I to join our ELA team, focused on developing passages and test items for national assessments. The role relies on strong content expertise and strict adherence to state specifications, with a remote-first approach and US residency requirements.

You will collaborate in group reviews, apply feedback, and move items through internal reviews, building a foundation in item writing, scoring, and editorial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field + 0–3 years’ experience.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Skilled at collaboration and multi‑tasking.
• Travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 6 weeks per year, typically for 2–5 days at a time.

Responsabilités

• Use state specifications to develop content.
• Participate in group reviews, take notes, implement edits.
• Understand and implement scoring techniques for a range of item types.
• Independently develop passages.
• Implement post client/committee edits, with direction.
