Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks an ELA Content Coach for Florida’s Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida, a statewide online K-12 school. The role supports standards-aligned ELA instruction, monitors pacing, and partners with teachers to address gaps through data-driven planning.

Travel for in-person state testing and student events is required several times per year, while most instruction occurs virtually. Open to Florida residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education preferred.
• Five+ years of experience in education with expertise in English Language Arts.
• Strong knowledge of ELA standards, curriculum, pacing, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support ELA teachers in grades 3–10 with curriculum, pacing guides, and instructional resources.
• Monitor instructional pacing to ensure standards are taught within timelines.
• Track which standards have been introduced, taught, assessed, and mastered.
• Unpack ELA standards and support understanding of required knowledge and skills.
• Review curriculum maps and pacing guides for alignment with grade-level standards.
• Analyze student achievement and standards-mastery data to identify gaps.
• Collaborate with teachers to adjust pacing based on performance.
• Identify prerequisite skills and standards to address learning gaps.
• Support vertical alignment across grades 3–10 for reading, writing, language, vocabulary.
