Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team of data scientists, AI researchers, psychometricians and software developers. You will apply advanced DS/AI techniques to solve complex problems for the School (PreK-12) business unit and translate insights into production-ready models.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Learning Design, and UX to deliver educational experiences, mentor peers, and guide models through lifecycle from research to deployment

Qualifications

• Experience taking DS/AI models from research to deployed products.
• Ability to design scalable data pipelines and production systems.
• Strong Python coding skills and production-quality software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience applying DS/AI to education or K-12 contexts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply advanced DS/AI techniques to solve business problems.
• Develop methodologies and scalable solutions in K-12 contexts.
• Interpret internal business issues and recommend DS/AI solutions aligning with goals.
• Plan and execute projects with minimal oversight while seeking leadership input.
• Foster cross-team collaboration and communicate complex concepts using data-driven storytelling.
• Provide technical mentorship to peers.
