Job summary

American Public Media Group is seeking an Editorial Intern for Marketplace initiatives. You will support reporters and editors, pitch and produce longform and special projects, and participate in cross-newsroom collaboration from a fully remote position in the United States.

The internship emphasizes learning to file stories on deadline, developing narration skills, and contributing to a dynamic newsroom focused on business journalism and climate solutions coverage.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or university, or graduated within the past 18 months.
• Available full-time (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
• Ability to write clearly and accurately under deadlines and work independently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and produce longform/special projects in the newsroom.
• Participate in group edits and feedback sessions for special projects.
• Assist Managing Editor and Deputies in coordinating cross-newsroom communication daily.
• Assist reporters and editors in finding and interviewing sources and executing stories.
