Issue Media Group seeks an experienced, community-focused Editor to lead Rapid Growth and The Lakeshore in West Michigan.

You will manage editorial production, audience engagement, and budget, while shaping the region's most influential media platforms with a solutions‑driven approach.

The role favors a remote-friendly arrangement with regular presence in Grand Rapids and nearby communities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of journalism/editorial experience.
• Understanding of solutions journalism.
• Demonstrated connection to Grand Rapids and West Michigan.
• Experience managing freelance teams and editorial budgets.
• Proficiency with digital publishing tools, CMS, and social media.
• Proficiency with Google Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop story ideas and angles for all publications’ content.
• Copy edit, fact-check, and proof all content including features and news.
• Recruit and manage freelance talent; monitor monthly editorial costs.
• Coordinate weekly newsletter and social media engagement.
• Facilitate quarterly editorial meetings with underwriters and sponsors.
