APT Search is recruiting a senior eDiscovery Legal Counsel to serve as primary counsel on eDiscovery matters for high-stakes litigation. You will guide data preservation, production strategies, and related agreements, collaborating with forensic experts and internal stakeholders.

The role requires a J.D. with bar admission, 6+ years in eDiscovery or legal tech, and deep FRCP knowledge. Occasional travel to major U.S. office hubs is expected; remote-friendly within the USA.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of legal experience with a focus on eDiscovery, litigation support, or legal technology.
• Strong knowledge of FRCP, ESI best practices, and relevant case law.
• Hands-on experience with major eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Nuix, or Everlaw.
• Familiarity with TAR, predictive coding, and AI-driven review workflows.
• Willingness to travel 20–30% to hubs in SF, Seattle, Chicago, NY.
• Applicants must not require visa sponsorship or H1-B visas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal counsel on all eDiscovery matters, including holds, preservation, and production strategies.
• Draft and negotiate eDiscovery-related agreements, ESI stipulations, and court orders; collaborate with forensic teams.
• Design defensible discovery workflows with forensic partners and technology.
• Monitor developments in eDiscovery legislation and court opinions; provide actionable advisories to clients.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee junior lawyers in eDiscovery projects.
