Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks an Edifecs Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst Transaction Specialist to support VA-related workflows. This fully remote, 100% U.S. based role requires Public Trust (MBI) clearance and deep EDI/X12 experience.

You will own EDI transactions (270/271, 276/277, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA), validate data, troubleshoot mapping, and collaborate with DevSecOps, AWS cloud teams, and business partners. Salary range $85,389–$116,975.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of payer/provider workflows.
• Interpret loops/segments/element-level errors.
• Experience with Edifecs Transaction Management or equivalent tools.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong understanding of EDI X.12 and SNIP validations.
• Experience with Edifecs logs and error codes (functional layer).
• Ability to identify root causes of transaction errors and data mapping mismatches.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA.
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, and partner-specific validation rules.
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes.
• Partner with business stakeholders for issue resolution and operational impact assessments.
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams.
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows.
